Taco Pita Pizza

1 cup canned organic refried beans, fat-free

1 can (8oz) tomato sauce

1 lb Extra lean ground beef

2 (12″) pita bread rounds

1/2 cup light mozzarella shredded cheese

1 tomato, chopped

1 cup shredded lettuce

Taco Seasoning

1 Tbsp chili powder

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp sweet onion powder

1/4 Tsp dried oregano

1/4 tsp paprika

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp pepper



Preheat oven to 425F.

In a small bowl mix together the ingredients for the taco seasoning. In a separate bowl combine 1 tbsp of the taco seasoning with the beans and tomato sauce. Set aside.

In medium skillet cook the ground beef until cooked through. Add remaining taco seasoning.

Place the pitas on a baking sheet. Spread the bean mixture evenly over each pita. Top with ground beef, tomato and cheese.

Place baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-15 mints or until the crust is crisp and the cheese has melted. Cool slightly, top with shredded lettuce and serve!
