Pumpkin Spice Latte

It’s that time of year when all of your neighbourhood coffee shops start advertising the, always popular, pumpkin spice latte – oh and don’t forget the pumpkin muffins, cakes and donuts too.

Enjoy the flavour of the season but skip the unnecessary calories and unwanted artificial ingredients. This homemade version of your fall favourite is full of rich spices and comforting flavours. It’s easy on the waistline and your wallet!

Nutritional Information

Serves 2

Nutritional Value per serving: Calories 72, Fat 2g, Protein 1g, Carbs 11g, Sugar 9g

1 cup black coffee, hot & strongly brewed

2 tbsp organic pumpkin puree

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp ginger

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

1 tbsp vanilla agave or raw honey

1/2 cup coconut milk

1/2 cup almond milk (or other milk of choice)

Combine all ingredients into your blender or Vitamix. If using a Vitamix you are going to use the “Hot soup” pre-set so that it comes out nice and hot – this takes appox. 6 minutes. Make sure the lid is secured, select the hot soup pre-set and press start. Let the Vitamix run through the entire cycle. The contents will be hot and ready to serve once it’s finished. Yum!
