Vitamix Monday: King Kale Shake

This Monday my post workout shake was full of iron, protein and green veggies! This King Kale shake has been featured in my Monthly Meal Plan subscription and is a perfect way to load up on nutrients and use up fresh produce in your fridge!

Serves 2

Nutritional value per serving; Calories 259, Fat 1g, Protein 27g, Carbs 37g



1 cup unsweetened 100% pure apple juice

2 Tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice

1 banana

2 scoops vanilla whey protein powder

1 1/2 cups chopped kale, ribs and thick stems removed

2 stalks celery, chopped

1 cup ice cubes



Combine ingredients into the Vitamix in the order listed. Place lid securely on top and select the smoothie setting. Blend through the entire cycle and then serve! To read more on the benefits of adding Kale to your diet click here.
